Well, I've been going through the Stovebolt site enjoying it all. So i decided to post my story and pics of my project. It all started back in 1976 when my dad gave me this old truck for my 14th birthday. We got it up and running and I drove it for 3 years, on the farm in Oklahoma, and back and forth to school. Back then it was red and one of my friends started calling it the old fire truck. I've since found out, after removing the head light buckets that it was a dark green. In 1979 my folks moved to the Seattle Wa. area, so after high school I parked it on the family farm, always intending from the day I got it to restore or rebuild it. It sat there for 30 years. So 4 years ago my folks went back to Oklahoma to visit and they brought it back home with them. and it has sat on their farm ever since . Last week my youngest son and I went to their farm and brought it back home to start the project.

Mmmm, for some reason the page isn't displayed for me. No problem, I'll check back later.

Welcome to the Stovebolt, 50chevwa. That's a nice story and one that your son will tell many times in the years ahead. Glad you decided to "keep it in the family". You will find all the help you need right here on the Stovebolt. Knowledge is the best resource and there is an abundance of it here and folks willing to share. Take lots of pictures as you go on this journey and be sure to visit here often.
That story should be in a gallery submission. Hopefully Peggy will pick up on this one..... I'll tell her!!

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Gary, since I'm not very computer savy I'd suggest you just post your question in the IT forum. The computer guys there will walk you through it and sometimes they may have you send them the info and they will post it for you and get you going straight.
Good luck and we look forward to the pics......Alvin

Okay, we got Gary's story finally in the Gallery! We have been working on this one since October!!! It was an East Coast - West Coast time warp!!

Looks like it'll be a fun project!
