As compared to what is on my '51.........

Sometimes it's better to have windows that work as opposed to windows that look correct.

MNSmith,

From whom did you get the whiskers?
What is the part number?

Thanks,

Tim

If you have to stomp on your starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.

That came from Classic Parts (Chevy Duty) as part of the window kit that does all four windows. I believe another thread spells out the individual part numbers.

In fact, now that I look at it, you broke it down and posted the pic.

I posted a photo from Classic Parts but I did not use those parts.

I got my parts from Jim Carter, I dimly recall. No matter whom I got it from (about 10 years ago), It did not come with the whiskers. I bought my whiskers from Restoration Specialties.

It is nice to read that the Classic Parts kit is complete and that the parts work (except for your comment that a few pieces of rubber were too short?).

Tim,I gave you the kit number not too long ago and you labeled it.I also stated individual side window parts can be purchased if you call them. For the whiskers from Classic Parts Of America #03-513 and you need two to get all four whiskers.

Really appreciate it guys real helpful info smile just one more question guys? My 1950 suburban is completely stripped down so it's missing all the side glass and from your pic the 1951 Carryall looks like glass with stainless slider is the functioning glass and from the pic on 1954 the glass with stainless slider stays stationary? So it might not look right? I know it's not correct but I've been looking for the 1950 suburban stainless sliders for a year and all I've came up with is this 1954 chevy Carryall.

Use what works, either style on any year 47-55 - git 'er done.

Only a few people would know the difference and most of us would either not care and/or would know the difficulties in ever finding a "correct" set.
