Not many can see the inner beauty like we can. What were the more memorable comments heard?

People sleep peacefully in their beds at night because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

I don't know if there is a favorite one or not. But just taking the old beast out for a drive is always entertaining. At least 3 or 4 times every time I go out someone wants to know what year it is, then there is always the stories, about how their dad had one, one fella said when he was a kid he and his parents visited 30 states in one. That had to be fun for the kid, but his poor mother...

When I first finished my 50 I had told my grandson (4 years old) while restoring it that it would be his someday. So when we went for his first ride he said to me "I like what you did with my truck grandpa."

I'd have to agree with brokenhead. Every time I take her out or I'm in the driveway wrenching, someone wants to talk about the ol' girl.
So far my fave in the truck was just the other day when a couple of Hispanic guys pulled up next to me at a traffic light in a black Esclade with big chrome rims, tinted windows and bass thumping. The passenger lowered his window and said "Nice ride esť!" and shook his head approvingly.

a lady rolled down her windows one day at the chicken finger place and said, while laughing: my kids said this about your truck: It's MATER!!!

(from the movie cars, for those of you who haven't been around any kids in the last 10 years).

I just laughed and gave 'em a thumbs up.

I didn't want to explain that they were about a body style off.

Brad Allen - HAHAHAHA. That is a good one.

p.s. this should be an amusing thread 'Bolters, so let's keep it going and on topic. Thanks.

Most interesting comment I have received recently was from a lady who walked up to my unrestored ratty old '51 suburban at a car show and said, "When I look at that, I can't help but think of all the births, deaths, weddings and flower shows that that truck has seen. I just want to lay my hands on it."

I said "go ahead" And she proceed to lay both hand on the side of the burb with her eys closed for about 10 mins. and then walked away with a beautific smile on her face.

Made her day, I guess.

My favorite was in Lowes parking lot, some guy yelled to me "man, that's a clean truck". Then the whole time he was loading his truck he kept telling his freind over and over "man, that's a clean truck"
