Mr.Chipmunk has brought to our attention a while back about the two different New Port wiper motors available for 1947-1953 trucks. The first is model NE4753CCT for use with original choke cable.
NE4753CCT
The second is model NE4753CT for use with out original choke cable.
NE4753CT
You can see there is a difference in the bracket position of each motor.I never knew there was two different models available when purchasing my first one.My first one is a NE4753CT and was installed in my 1951 Chevy pickup.I still had the original 216 engine with choke cable and never had a interference problem. The second one,I purchased for the suburban it is the NE4753CCT .I really don't understand why they make two different models, why not just the one for the original choke cable installed. If you decided to remove the choke cable, you can still run the same wiper motor,so why two ? headscratch

Jim Carter part number for NE4753CCT is WW149C

Thanks,Tim

Got mine from Carters while at the reunion in Sept. I installed mine 4753CCT, and did not even have to do sny type adjustment.

AT THAT TIME Newport listed it at 209 and Carter at 195. WIth your stovebolt discount that would be about 182 unless they went up in the past 90 days. I do like it and it works nicely.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

I had problems with Newport I ordered from Classic parts,
Described in this thread

http://www.stovebolt.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=639270&page=1

Classic parts sells the Newport, but itís the model that didnít clear the choke (or original radio)

Classic parts did offer me a store credit if I paid to ship the wiper back to them.

Instead I called Newport. Newport offered to modify the wiper motor to clear the choke for just a small shop fee.

This was back in April and Newport said they were going to Contact Classic parts to have them disclose the interference issues. The other model is sold mostly for the Hot Rod trucks.

I did have to adjust the park, and I bought some longer 10/32 screws for the bracket.

Just be careful if you order from Classic Parts, it may or may not clear. They should have fixed the description by now.

If anyone has modified that electric switch to the original knob , please let me know how you did it. Iím still working on that.

Good Luck

I put one in my 47 several years ago. Not sure anymore which model it was. I'm not using a choke cable, so I don't know about that. My problem was that it interfered with the original switch location. I had to move the switch over a couple inches.
