I came across a good deal I think... Its a 51 GMC 2 or 3 ton (19000 gvw) flat bed truck sitting on an old farm. Its pretty solid with the exception of the the lower right cab corner and drivers side floor board. Looks like the original motor and owner says he thinks mileage is correct at 53502 miles. Tires, wheels and frame look real good as does all glass except passenger side door. Its been sitting several years but motor turns over and was running when last parked... Its painted in military od green, inside and out and was an old army truck on the military base here... The owner is asking $400.00. Anybody wanna weigh in on this being a fair deal or not ?

Thanks, Troy

Thanks for the reply, Mike smile With your expert opinion and the price of many others i see advertised, most all over $1000, I probably will pull the trigger on this one right away... After purchase I will try and upload some pics.

Thanks again smile

If it's 19000gvw it's larger than a 2 ton. Should be a GMC 400, 450, or 470 series. May have series designation emblems on the hood. Being Military, no telling what it might be. Any pictures. $400 is a steal regardless.

Troy,

You're not ignorant. I just fixed the code a little for you (Next time, make sure the Markup box says "Using UBB code" instead of HTML.) No sweat, I have a soft spot for folks from Bammy (I married one and both our daughters are B'Ham born smile ) Sorry for the hassle.

That truck looks excellent -- grab it!

Mr. Hardy, the serial number on the data plate on inside of door area gives serial number hc453. Does that tell us anything ?

Yep, That's a 450 series 3 ton , with 161in. wheelbase. Being a '51 model, should have a 270ci. six banger. There should be a "GMC Parts Identification" tag, on the back of the glove box lid, with all the trucks specifications.
