Truckstell Parts Jimmie D Sat Jul 20 2019 10:44 PM
Well, here it is again. Summer has set in, and I resurrecting my request for leads on a Truckstell O.D. parts. I still need the cables, side cover. and the "break bar" fitting. I already have all the installation documents, and most of the literature on the units. I know they are hard to find, and parts are even more so. So if you know someone that might have parts, or even might be will to let me borrow the pieces I need to get copies made please let me know. Thanks Jimmie.

Brownie information? Hotrod Lincoln Sat Jul 20 2019 02:44 PM
I just acquired a Brown-Lipe auxiliary transmission, model 5531. The ID tag indicates it's got a 2:1 low ratio, but other than the model and serial number, nothing else. It's pretty obvious from turning the input shaft that the midrange is 1:1 but I haven't gotten around to calculating the OD yet. Does anyone have information on the torque rating of this box? It appears to be sized for something in the 1 1/2-2 ton range, not really big enough for a tractor-trailer or heavy duty big rig application.

I'm considering installing it in a Ford F-350 mini motorhome with a 460 gas engine and a C-6 transmission, and using only the direct/over shifter to give me an overdrive without swapping transmissions. I might even adapt the box to use a vacuum shifter and electric solenoid valves for the direct/over shifting rather than a manual shift lever.
