53 interior windshield trim?

I'm being told that there is a trim that goes on top of the 1953 3100 windshield weatherstripping, but I can't see it for sale anywhere, but I do see screws for sale for it.
I've seen reference to it for a '54 though.
I would have thought there should be something to direct the air to the windshield from the defroster.
Can somebody shed some light on this for me pls and some pics would sure help.
I have a friend going to Carlisle shortly and would like to be able to give him some specific direction on what to get me if indeed there is such a thing.
Thanks.

It's called a garnish molding. Check the parts for sale forum and put an ad in the parts wanted forum.

I will post a picture tonight for the set. It comprises 5 pieces, a right/left around the window, a center vertical strip and two small trim pieces that finish the right/left gaps where they come together. The right/left pieces have slots in them for the defrost ducts to exit. The ‘54-55 1st Series is completely different with just a single piece for defrost diffusion.

In addition to the parts already mentioned
There are spring metal clips that snap into the trim part at about 5-6 places
And there are two foams on each side of the defrost opening to block air from going all around the molding
These spring clips and foams are not intuitive to install
But if you reverse engineer how they are suppose to go and what they do it’s not bad
The factory assembly manual shows them in some views
The spring clips just hold the trim part at a nice angle when you tighten the screws down
Otherwise you could over screw the trim on and they twist or would overtravel.

Hey Brad, where does that red piece for the 47-mid 49 go?

I have an early '49 cab, but apparently do not have the early '49 interior window trim with the extra holes for those cool looking center pieces.
Thank you Brad for the info!
