Can anyone please tell me where the radio, if a radio was available for a 41-46, was located? I prefer not to cut into my dash and thought I could hang it below the dash but there are so many obstructions with the window crank, the vent lever, the switches, and glove box, I am hoping someone has a good solution.
Many thanks to all,
Steve

SH, I have a 46 2-Ton Chevy and the second owner.
Bought it from the wife who's husband bought it new in 1946.
It has, what I think, is a factory radio or a dealer add on.
I'll see if I can get a picture of it. If it is not raining right now.

Got up to the barn and back before it started storming. Got a few pictures.
I don't know if is a factory or a dealer add on.

Hope this helps!

Look for the pictures the Tim Sheridan posted of his pickup. It shows what I think was the normal radio location on a 41-46 for a GM supplied radio. It hung below the dash to the left of the steering column.

Steve,
The correct radio and location for your 46 is shown in the attached photos. Also a photo of the correct antenna.

Harold has it right. I have the same radio installed in the same location on my '42. Works OK and it is fun to have the stock set up. It is only AM, of course, and the integral speaker points to the floor. Unfortunately, I don't have an ear near my left knee and it is very hard to hear over the cab noise going down the road.

Harold,
Thank you so much. Pictures are worth 1000 misconstrued words.
Aloha,
Steve

Hey Harold. Good to see you are still out here. I don’t get out here much anymore but still love it.
