Here is a pic of the distance from my exhaust pipe and brake res. mounted to
frame.
Is this too close and should I put up a heat shield?
Its been that way since I got it.

I don't see a fluid reservoir in the picture. If you're talking about the power brake booster, the answer is yes, and YES! Heat shields are a good thing, especially when they're protecting something you're betting your life on, like a brake system.

Nice!! I ended up with pipe wrap and shield. Did the donuts and down close to
the power steering. Also underbed.

You can some discoloration to the bottom side of booster.
