Take a moment today to wish happy birthday to our shared hero ...

I was on a battle study of Iwo Jima once. Just up from "Invasion Beach" we found a landing craft bow ramp that a recent typhoon had washed up or uncovered (meaning that the craft had likely been blown apart during the assault). We flipped it over to see the front and you could still make out the big USCG emblem painted on it. A sobering and educational moment for all of the Marines who were there to see it. You will never catch me making fun of the Coast Guard.

Semper Fi, PO Munro!

"He is the only non-Marine to have his name enshrined on the Wall of Heroes of the National Museum of the Marine Corps."

I will stand at attention (as a civilian), as I say Happy Birthday to Albert Munro (Irish/Scot/Anglo-Canadian -- American).

Happy birthday. I have a good friend in the Coast Guard, we worked together at PMO before he EAS'd and I re-retired. He joined the CG to follow in his fathers footsteps... AFTER going to CG bootcamp!
