46 Chevy Truck hood - Sun Aug 25 2019 09:51 AM

I have a 46 Chevy truck, it came in pieces. This is my first build and with not seeing how it were dissembled, makes it a little challenging to put back together. The problem I’m having now is I have a 1inch gap between hood and grille. It looked good until I installed the curved hood brace and this is where I’m having the problem. I tried moving fender, raising the cab but nothing seems to work. It seems pretty straightforward how the pieces go back together but something isn’t right. Can someone please help, I’ve been working on this for about 2 weeks.
Distance of v brace center bolts to firewall is 31 7/8
Top of radiator to top of frame is 30 1/2
Center of v brace where it enters firewall to top of frame is 34, due to drop in frame

Thanks

It is not clear to me what exactly your problem is, but you can adjust the v-shaped brace that goes from the firewall to the radiator surround. By tightening or loosening the nuts under the dash at the top of the firewall you can move the top of the radiator forward and backward.
That will change the relationship of the front of the hood with the top grill piece.

Reading between the lines here, “a 1 inch gap between the hood and radiator”, I wonder if the radiator hoop may be installed incorrectly. What sequence was used for the nuts, washers, bolts, radiator pads and springs in attaching the hoop to the cross member?

Distance of v brace center bolt to firewall is 31 7/8
Height top of radiator to top of frame is 30 1/2
Height where v brace enters firewall is 34”, due to dip in frame.

Sits on 92 210 frame.
