Have 40 Chevy p/u which I replaced the clutch/brake pedal bushings. It has been some time and I can't remember or figure out how to attach the springs for the brake pedal, but especially for the clutch pedal. There are some old posts on the Forum from '08, but the pictures are either missing or lack the detail I need. The 40 Chevy service manual is also sadly lacking. (I suspect that this is one of those things that all the mechs and shade tree mechanics in the 40's knew, but that common knowledge has been lost in the last 80 years.) Does anyone have schematics, diagrams or pictures of these hookups. Would sure appreciate it.

Assuming the 40 and 41 are similar: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1941/41csm196.htm

32vsnake. Appreciate the pictures, great help. They orient me and give me an idea how the springs hook up. The Manual is completely useless. I still don't understand the clutch pedal though. Thought it had 2 springs on it, one hooked toward the front of the vehicle on the metal fixture welded to the frame that keeps the clutch plate separated. The other I thought was oriented aft so the clutch pedal didn't fall or travel aft when there was no foot on the pedal. Haven't gotten back under the vehicle yet, so it may resolve itself when I get the single brake and separate clutch spring afixed.

Again thanks much for your time, effort and the picts.
