Ive just found out that my offy 4bbl intake will not fit up to the Massey Ferguson 292 exhaust that I bought on EBay. Ive removed as much stock as I can from the bottom of the intake and the top of the exhaust...still don’t mate well...has anyone else run into this?
I had same problem old Clifford intake, as long as they are close you should be fine. I had to add a plate to stock exhaust to fill up the space, not bolted together. Problem with this Clifford was that it was not a good fit at all to intake runners but I made it work. I went with a Remflex brand thick gasket (sold by Summit) between manifolds and head which made up for poor fit.

I'm just asking questions: how did you remove material from the intake and exhaust manifolds? Before you did that were they misaligned, or did they interfere with each other?
Thanks for the reply. Someone on this forum said this would work. The runners on the exhaust are huge! The intake sits too high to mate with the head and “heat riser” section of the exhaust. Is this same issue you had? What did you use for a plate between them?
I removed the stock with a sanding disc on a die grinder. The runners on the exhaust were too high. That’s what caused the intital misalignment. The intake literally sat on top of the exhaust runners.
If you could post a photo would be a big help. It's common to have to do surgery on aftermarket manifolds, everyone I've had turned into a project. I had a chunk of maybe 1/8" flat stock I cut to fit the intake to exhaust, and using counter sunk machine screws I was able to make it work and fit just to the exhaust half.
