Greetings from New Jersey,

Here's the newest Chevrolet
Overhaul manual that's been converted
to a pdf. file.

It's free for stovebolter's to download.

Stovebolt member Brad Allen in Utah has allowed me
to use his Four Speed Synchro-Mesh Overhaul
filmstrip slides. The filmstrip slides are
better quality than scanning photos from
the actual manual. I have the actual manual.
Brad has the filmstrip.

My Thanks to Brad !

The filmstrip was put out by GM Chevrolet.
It was produced by a company named Jam Handy,
from Detroit in 1948.

After downloading Brad's filmstrip photo's.

Each photo had to be re-sized to 600 pixels wide.
They still needed a lot of cleanup work.
Scratches & artifacts had to be removed.
I also digitally color-ized the Jam Handy filmstrip leader pages & the last page just to add a little pizzaz.
Included are the front & rear cover pages of the actual manual. I digitally re-stored the dirty worn
covers making them look like new.
The end result is pretty darn good in my opinion.

I sent Keith Hardy this manual a few years
ago. But it was the scanned version from my
actual manual.

This version is the new & improved version.

This is my pdf. file that I made.
It's not to be sold by anyone else.
It's here FREE to stovebolter's.
It's for your personal library.

I sent Brad a master copy pdf. by direct email today.

You can view & or download this pdf. file
at my Google Cloud Storage space.

Download it Below:

I'd like to hear some opinions.

> Hey George and Brad -
Thanks for collaborating on the project. It looks great.

The Google cloud storage is the perfect solution for making your manuals easy for us to obtain. They're helping me build up a decent library. The coloring is pretty cool. I believe that you added some color to one of the manuals that you sent to me. I hope that everyone understands and appreciates the hours of time, effort, and dedication that you have put into producing the manuals. Ol' manuals are like ol' trucks ... bring 'em back alive!

Yes sir ree, wonderful stuff. And most of that stuff has been
out of the reach of most of us. I don't go to many swap meets
any more and when I was going those vintage manuals and other
literature was priced way out of reach for a guy like me.
I had down loaded a lot of Brads stuff by screen printing each
page then cropping it in Photo Shop before I saved it, needless
to say it took me half a day to get one of the film strips into
my reference file on the confuser.

Sooooo....a big THANK YOU from this end guys.

Thanks ! ! ! ! !

I was planning on re-bearing my SM420 next summer as a preventive maintenance measure as the trans is making some noises when idling. This is sure to be some good help.

Is it different or more detailed than the factory service manual?
