did 1949 chevy trucks have hidden serial numbers on the body or frame?

on my 49 chevy truck, the engine has been changed and the serial plate on drivers A pillar is gone.
Is serial number stamped anywhere else in "hidden" location on these trucks.

no, there was no frame stamped numbers until the TF series, 55/6

Unfortunately, they did not stamp any numbers outside of the "VIN" plate on the drivers pillar. What is the ID number on the title? You may have to purchase a plate from one of the venders and stamp the numbers to match or you can go to the DMV and they will give you a build tag.
