Just installed a new fan blower switch in my '58...took out the toggle switch someone had installed some years back...

Problem is that the the switch shoould be OFF to the left and HIGH to the right...it's backwards and can't figure it out.

Please help...I'm sure it's a really stupid and easy fix but spent enough time and thought I would check with my favorite source....Stovebolt

Thanks a bunch for all the help

Steve in I-da-ho

maybe you installed the switch upside down? 2 speeds only might mean it's mis-wired or the switch is defective

The old fan switch was still in the assembly but with a broken connector and does the same thing as the new one. HIGH to the left and OFF to the right.

the way you got it isn't necessarily the way it came from the factory 50 years ago - have you looked at whether it can be flipped over? have you tried reversing the wire connections?
