Thanks for all these comments and memories. I'm so tempted to respond but I need to wait a bit.

I've been pondering how to get this all lined up, so stay tuned. Once I get it mapped out, I'm thinking there will be spots where we'd like folks to recall (year by year). THAT'S when I can post, too! grin

And ... we may have more stuff here on the computers. So I'll have to weed thru that too.

All good. All fun. All memories worth keeping.

Thanks, Peggy, I was at all those reunions as well. Nice shot of Ned in there. Lots of friendships made at those gatherings.

This has been fun. Lots of loose ends to piece together. nono

From recall with John, the first "Reunion" was a GABFest of sorts. The Genuine Chevy GMC Truck Club of Kansas City provided an automatic gathering. I recall some of the Bolters who were there posted about the event. After talking with some of them afterwards, it seemed that this venue was a perfect spot for an annual, nation-wide event. It was in the middle of the country. Easy to get to. Already had a pile of old truck enthusiasts nearby. A main mover and shaker with the Club and All Truck Nationals (the event name) was Mongo, who was our Hi-Po moderator. All these guys seemed excited about the idea (and proved to be huge promoters!).

Not sure if there are some photos around from that first event, but I'll look. And if anyone has any recollection of that first one, please let us know.

I DO have a write up with great details from the "Second Annual Stovebolt Reunion" - September 2006. It is in an webpage but it isn't in the server, as I could tell. I'll get to that over the next few days.

2008 was my first year, the year that the 54 was to be done and it let me down and never got more than 60 miles and it overheated and I had to drive my PT cruiser but I did make 8 more times and it was great putting a face to the ones that post.

Did I get that "first" year right? Basically. John and I were doing our best recollection.

Anything you can add?

That 2008 pic is very cool. There were nine of us from Omaha. My youngest son Michael was even there. thumbs_up
