Could someone tell me the wiring code for the wires that lead from the turn signal switch housing down the column to the two plugs that mate with the jack under the dash. Getting the bugs outa this left side brake/TS light problem is the last thing (knock on wood)I need to resovle before registering 'er. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

I would check the grounds and check for the correct bulb in the socket befor tearing the wireing apart!
I believe chevy1 has the wiring diagrams.

Been there, done it. Problem is no brake/TS on the left side, rear. I have the running light but no brake/TS light. Ground is fine, bulb is OK. I pulled the plug at the firewall and had nothing there so I figured the problem had to be in the switch housing. Took it all apart and the contacts are all wore down. Went to NAPA to get a replacement and the replacement doen't mate up to the cowling. I did plug the two connectors up under the dash and the problem went away, so I know that's what's wrong. Appartently, the common replacement is for Chevy, not GMC. I was thinking that if I had "the blue wire is...." info, I could wire in a Mickey TS unit.

Check the 6066GMC site I think there is a link to diagram there. If not e-mail me off list and I'll send scan of one I have. (it's small and may be hard to read though)

My Chev had the aftermarket switch and wiring when I got it, so I don't have a clue how it works on the original. Getting the aftermarket switch won't necesarily resolve your problem as I am still waiting for someone with more knowledge, skill or whatever to come help me fix mine. The truck has been sitting in the garage for over a month in beautiful pristine red and white condition because of this!

I don't have my 1965 Chev 1/2 ton anymore, but it is still in the gallery if you are interested.

Well, I did it. I went and put the aftermarket switch setup on. Actually, figuring out the wiring was easy. Everything works great, front and rear, and I also have emergency flasher operation! I have the wiring "guzintas" if anyone is interested. Thanks for the input.
