How does the bell housing unbolt from the block on a 235? Already found the top two bolts but I'm not seeing any others. Just trying remove the small stuff before I scrap the rest.

Hi Slick Willy, to remove the bellhousing you have to remove the pressure plate, clutch and flywheel. Then you have access to two more mounting bolts.

One question for you, what year 235? Do you wanna sell the inspection cover and plate?

Personal buying and selling should take place in Private Messages and/or in email (check each other's Profiles).

There is a code pressed into the block, just to the rear of where the distributor enters the block. Post that code and people should be able to tell you more about the engine.

Here are locations for a variety of codes that can usually be used to ID an engine.

- If you have to stomp on your foot-pedal starter, either you, or your starter, or your engine, has a problem.
- The 216 and early 235 engines are not "splash oilers" - this is a splash oiler. [chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com]

There are 4 bolts under the flywheel.
