I've been working on fixing the rust spots on my `59 1/2 ton and got to looking at the wheels. They are steel wheels with the little clips to hold a small hubcap. Three of the tires are 6.20-15 and one is 6-16. Thought that was funny so I went outside to check my `58 1/2 ton "parts truck". It has the same steel rims with the clips except it's sporting 7-17.5 tires. So, what was the stock size for a standard 2wd 1/2 ton? I'm going to run a 235 with a 3 speed trany. I'm assuming that the 7-17.5 would really help with cruising speed, If I could find tires. What size are you running?

the "standard" wheel/tire size depended on GVW, the base GVW [4000-4300#] is 15", medium GVW was 16's and the highest GVW 1/2T was 17.5 - glovebox book .... you won't have much choice available in the 17.5's Bill
