My truck has bstd doors , one has a vent and one doesn't. I Originally wanted the vent windows (undecided). My concern is does the kits and replacements seal up good ? Has anyone re did theirs ?

Totally rebuilt both my wing vent assemblies. They can be a bear depending on how bad they are. I can take them either way. If my truck had no wing vents thats OK....but since it has them thats OK as well. I guess its cheaper to not have to rebuild the wing vent assemblies but since you have one each its up to you.

Now that I think about it my 52 had a 50 door on it. Since I wanted mine period correct I sold the 50 door and bought me a 52 door. Since yours is a 51 it should have come with vent windows and pull down handles. (push button door handles came out in 52)

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Amazing enough the right door has no hardware and a vent. The left door has no vent and pulldown handle. The main concern is the seal and how they fit. Looking at the prices it's pretty pricey for them but I don't mind the price if they seal properly .

...the "seal" will depend on how well you do it. The rubber that the vent glass fits to does good. Just be sure when you put the new glass in that its a good fit to the glass frame itself... I put my glass in the vent window frame, THEN closed it and pulled the glass back to the vertical strip of the assembly before the glass set up. That insures no wind noise because the glass wasn't pulled back. I've seen some that we put in that had a "crack" between it and the vertical strip. Not good.
(Hope you understand what I'm trying to say)

Hi. I don't know anything about redoing these wing vents, but I have them on two trucks. And if the question is whether they are worth keeping ... my vote is YES!

They provide awesome cross-ventilation, and are one of the top reasons I prefer older trucks to new ones. (Even though sometimes they are hard to close while driving, and the air sometimes whistles.) LOL
