So I should start as to how this all came about. my father was surfing e-bay looking for a pick-up for my younger brother, a Chevy of course, and a listing came up for a 1945 stack body, mistakenly he said "hey Dave check this out" the auction was only a day old but the price was under $500. We agreed that it was going to skyrocket and be UN affordable. The last day of the auction I looked, and the price was still low, under a grand! I call my dad and told him if it stayed under 2k I was buying it...I sat down, and put in my max bid, $2200.00 just to be safe, I WON! $1600.00! I was thrilled, my father was shocked. He knew that this was another big project that he would need to help me with. The truck was owned by a school district for its entire life. The truck has an original 27,000 miles on it, it was barn kept until 2 years ago when the district tore down the barn and it was put outside. All in all, it is in great shape! Iíll be sure to update this as I go through the process of stripping it to the frame and completely refinishing it from the ground up. Iím very excited to start this project! Please see all the photos! http://s1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff404/warrickjr/1945%20Original/

I think you found a true diamond in the rough....but not to rough. Not sure about your plans but what about driving it like it is and let it "talk to you" as what it wants and needs!.

Keep us posted ...and oh, Welcome to the Stovebolt. Your in good hands here....even better than Allstate smile

I'd rather walk and carry a Chevy hub cap than ride in a Ferd.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you smile

Nice find! I love that body style! If it were mine, I think I'd clean it up and drive it as is for a while.

But I guess it's not mine....

Congratulations, and keep us posted.

I got a pair of those new Memory Foam shoe inserts. Hasn't helped much- When I walk to another room, I still can't remember why.
