did they ever have back up lights on a 61 gmc with a 4 speed trans .if so how was it hooked up ,if not how can they be hooked up ?thanks

Incorrect Bill. That is not a switch for a 4 speed.

Here is the original GM mechanical back up light switch that mounts on the 4 speed shifter.

I've heard reports that the 67 SM420 had a reverse switch, or are the links "Mother Trucker" switch it?

That GM backup light switch posted by M.T. will work on any SM 420 4 speed from 1947 to 1967.
