new member, i think this is where initial posts go...

I'm sure my 66 has a story, but I don't have it. The only story I have is wanting an old truck since I was kid. My brother-in-law got this 1966 C10 swb stepside in 02 from someone who had 2 trucks, using one for parts. He got it because the engine was done and it only needed body work. He did get some body work done and even some paint, but never made it over the hump before she became a shelf in the garage, especially when wife and baby came along. Now I have gotten it from him, as of Aug 08. My plan is to actually give the engine a minor tune and THEN get it to a painter so I can get her on the road! Then hopefully add the details as money and time permit.

As of May 15, it has been with a restoration shop and I'm hoping to get it back by end of summer. Not quite frame-off but we are replacing several body panels/parts, both inner and outer fenders, bumpers, wood bed, gas tank... looking for an original steering column, I bought one from a junk yard but got it home and realized it was for a standard column 3 speed, grr...
