Yup, it was the headache and medications. It may well be in your garage yet.

Thanks for the good thoughts!I got the "sickness" real bad and I know the only cure is an old stovebolt sitting in my shop calling out to me...or 2 or 3 or maybe 12!!LOL
(I could just see it on Oprah:Up next,The men and women who are crazy about stovebolts and the spouses who love them!!)

Sorry to be joining this so late, but many alohas, Hawai'ian steel! Glad to have some Aloha back on the site -- been awhile since we've heard from HulaDave...

But you might be interested to know that this site was born in Hawai'i -- we went online on aloha.net in November of '95 when I was stationed at Kane'ohe Bay.

Man, we've come a long way since then ...

Mahalo,
Waimanalo Johnnie

Thanks all for the support.Heading out now to look at it.
aloha John, neat story about starting it all here...I love it here but the available old trucks that haven't completely rusted away make for pretty slim pickin's! Who knows...May have to come visit and drive one back.Well, at least as far as Long Beach...Long swim from the LEFT Coast to Big Island!!(Maybe need to find an old Stove Boat!!LOL)

Actually, there are Stovebolts that would work for you

They can be a little pricey when you find one, though

Hey John,I got chickens running around here, maybe I could convince the wife we need a"duck" to keep the chickens company...
BTW,I was in San Francisco in Oct.They have a tour where you can ride one of those in the bay.Wish I had made time to go on it.
I got to see the 67(?) c-10 today.A little rough around the windshield but not too bad for over here. The wife's owner said he was working late so didn't get to talk about the truck.Maybe on Saturday.just got to be patient...this ain't the mainland!

Aloha Hawaiiansteel ! When my orders for Nam were cancelled they shipped me to the "Tourist" island .Stationed at Schofield but worked at Wheeler AFB . Never got used to being able to drive around ones whole world in a couple of hours. Had hoped to visit the big island but never could get there . If you get the '51 I may have a dash for you . It's a wonder that there is just a "little " rust on the '51 with all the salt air around you . Keep us posted and as one who is rarely a patient person when it comes to old trucks - Patients does work . It took over 25 years to get my "TOTO" a '52 GMC 1 1/2 ton from it's owner. Good Luck !
