Aloha from the big Island...
My first post here so I hope I don't mess it up!I'm trying to get this Stovebolt that is available here on a barter for construction work.(right up my alley). It's a little rusty in spots but the engine and drivetrain had a lot of work done on it about 8 years ago.It starts and runs good.I have been up late for three nights now reading posts and advice from this site.I'm like a kid in a penny candy store.I haven't been this excited since my last grand daughter was born!!I'm looking forward to asking advice and talking "STORY" IN THE FUTURE.
BTW,my first vehicle was a blue '55 chevy small window pickup with straight six,4speed,and baby moon hubcaps.Oh the memories...

Thanks mexicosab!!The truck had metal plates welded over the old wood flat bed.The metal goes and the wood bed will be redone.I want to return it as close as I can to the original truck. It really hasn't been modified much except someone fiber glassed over the vent right under the windshield and the heater is long gone. The dash is the biggest problem. It's pretty rusted out and I'm gonna have to do some modification...(gonna need some suggestions for sure!!)I'm going up to see it again in the morning and I'll take some pictures and try to get em posted.

Thanks for the warm reception!I appreciate it.
My youngest son(almost 20)thinks it's cool.My oldest son thinks I've lost my mind.(not the first time I've heard that!)The wife is blissfully unaware of the truck(going to finish the family bath remodel this week before I spring it on her!Yeah,I know,I know...)
Looking forward to talking with you all in the future,Jeff

I'm way ahead of you, Jeff. I finished our bath remodel a month ago. The only thing I'm waiting for now is heat! To cold for me to work on my truck. It was -15 below zero with a wind chill of -30 below. Do you want to trade places????????? grin

Hey there,
Couldn't get pics today. The lady I'm getting it from had dental work done and really didn't want anyone around.(don't blame her!)The weather has turned nasty today, raining with 50-60 mile an hour winds.I'll try again tomorrow...BTW Jock, my grandmother was born in Scotland.(Edinborough)
