Thank-you everyone for the warm welcome!

I am already doing comparisons on wheel & tire combinations and other ideas!!

Hotshoe36: I have no idea why my posting was moved from the General forum to here. I agree that the General forum SEEMS like a more natural place for it, but the administrators must have their reasons. It MIGHT have been my "announcement / introduction" type wording. Future posts on SLURP will be more like a serial adventure!

the post got moved here Jim, cuz this is the place for intro postings, there really wasn't anything in your first 2 here that has to do with "general truck talk", but a lot about you and your finally 'seeing the light' .... posts about your project's progression can fit in where the particular topic is appropriate, which sounds like it'll be the HiPo shop

you'll find few here will actually read posts as long as your first 2, so you might want to prune a bit, now that we've got 'the big picture' .... and for some info about picture posting, see here, which doesn't all quite suit this new forum software we got recently, but will lead you to some common hosts

good luck with the project, glad you finally found the hobby and the site grin

Bill

Jim, you do talk a lot, but you also do not waste words. I love the intro. It's the first time I actually cared to read anything about the SSR.
Do you do a lot of writing in your career?

The one big truth in your account is that your wife is obviously a saint.

Yes, in my work as a computer systems consultant, I have to write DAILY, long detailed reports and design documents that make complex systems understandable to the reader! So, yes, writing is a big part of my career.

And yes, Karen IS a saint. She has tolerated a lot, with a big smile on her face most of the time. smile
