I just wanted to say hi and that the site is probably the best help I've gotten since acquiring my 1950 3100. I just recently(I think yesterday) became a member, even though I've known about the site for a couple of months. You guys have an outstanding amount of unlimited knowledge, and I look forward to dealing with everyone!!

Thanks Drew. Just out of curiosity, what kind of shape is yours in? Mine's pretty rough (actually, she's been called a bucket of rust), but I think that's the best kind to have. Not too far gone that it's not worth it, and not too nice that I'd feel bad by making cuts.

HaHaha,Thinking about what shape it was in(and in some respect still in)makes me laugh because when I went and looked at it for the first time I didn't see all the stuff needed to be done.I just wanted to buy it. I drove it occasionally for a year before I had to start a rebuild. The frame cracked badly one day! So now I'm in the process of a frame off rebuild, not a restoration.
So it's been a learning curve, but in many ways enjoyable.

Oouch!!! A cracked frame is never a good one. I'm fortunate enough to have a really good frame underneath of her, but I can't drive it by sitting on a frame rail! The body's pretty bad, well atleast the floors, bed, fenders...let's just say everything except the actual cab! My goal is to have her done and a daily driver by May. It's gonna be a feet, but I have the means and will power to get it done. The main reason I set my deadline for May is because that's when drag racing season starts. I think she'll be a great addition to my club.

So how much do I have to pay or what do I have to trade to get good accurate advice?

JLucas~ My truck's a 1950 3100 that I managed to score for a whole $450.00. She definitely needs a bunch of love, but is well worth it. I hope to have her done and as my daily driver by May (that's also when drag racing season starts!). I'll try to add her into the gallery along with the "adventure" that it took to get her. Thanks for wanting to know about the old girl.

I prefer cash. grin

Are you a Drag Racing spectator, or do you participate? If you drive, or are a crew member, maybe you can submit a picture with your truck next to the dragster. Now that would be extra cool.

As long as all goes well, I'll be bracket racing my truck in May. I'll definitely make sure to post a pic of her and I going down the track! I can't wait. Everything's already underway, and so far, it's going well. I'll keep you updated though.

Well, this is good to know. Chevy Jenny's truck was my first attempt at working on someone's profile (adding her truck to the signature line). Glad to see it worked. The computer kept giving me thank "boink" sound.

But ... her truck and story are now in the Gallery!

Ooh. I am about 45 minutes outside of Philly. So, I guess you're about 4 hours or so away. I saw your truck. Nice! Maybe we could get all the Pa bolters together sometime next Spring. I'll be willing to bring the poulty and bacon, but you might have to brew up some of that XXX Cider! smile

Jenny,

I'm glad we were able to get you in there! I had seen some of your posts, but ... well, you know how hectic it's been with the forum stuff.

Now everyone can see your pride and joy.
