I have a GMC 55.2 truck, serial 152 C Y 1345 which should be the 345th vehicle off the Oakland assembly line in the Y series.

I'm trying to sort out what the original paint colors are on it as none of them appear to match the '55-'59 paint colors on any of the charts I've checked.

The colors come very close to matching those found in '54-'55.1 color charts. The steering column is also painted the same color as the interior, like the '54 and '55.1 columns were.

I have a theory that the early 55.2 trucks may have been painted in the previous models colors and using an interim paint specification until the final one was released to production.

Does anyone know of any other early 55.2's still in their original colors?

I don't know about the color, but my '55 Chevy had '54 style taillamps on it. Found out the hard way after ordering rplacement lenses for them and they wouldn't fit. But the '54 lenses were an exact match.

Number 1345 would be the 345th truck. The first was 1001.
