gmc to chevy,what is swapable?

ive got a line out for a 51 gmc.i know the engines,grill,and electricall wont work but am wondering if fenders doors,bellhouseing and exspeccialy tranny will be a bolt on to a 51 chevy. Thanks.Ron

Tranny is the same. SM420. Should bolt right up.

The fenders will work, the only difference is GMC has the parking lights in the fender. The hood is different, the bumper is the same but the valence is different. The front crossmember is different. The doors, cab, running boards, most of the interior are the same. Outside of the few body panels and the engine, there are few differences. There may be some others that i did not mention but I am sure the GMC guys will let us know! grin

i called to late and it was sold,but was told to call back as the aparently the guy is slow to come up with the cash.Arunning 51 5 window for 500 o.b.o..100% restorable.sounds like a definate i.r.w.i.p. it.
