So I had a rattle can of primer that clogged and was still about 1/2 full. I have some 3M PPS mini cups so thought I'd use the paint in the rattle can. I punched a small hole in it with a shop towel over the punch and proceeded to make a mess as the paint started boiling out of the hole. Once that subsided, I got the paint into the mini cup, put the cap and a plug on it and shook it a bit to mix the paint. It still apparently had some propellant mixed into the paint that pressureized the cup a bit and when I removed the plug, paint went everywhere, including on my recently finish painted fender which is going to need some touch up anyway. Not shown in the picture, but I was using eye protection (only a couple drops on those).

So the moral of the story is: Don't try this.

I did clean up OK, in case you were wondering.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.

Ya but you'll need a lot of practice to get the spots just right.

Kevin,

Kudos for wearing good eye protection! thumbs_up

That could have turned out WAY worse.

Glad clean up wasn't too difficult.

"Hey! I sound like Darth Vader!!
I had a supervisor that climbed up in to the bucket of his tractor to try to reach a branch with his chainsaw. He fell. The abrasion/bruise made a perfect Gorbachev. Yeah, we called him that until the day he retired.

Kevin, your Gorbachev is a little spotty. Ba-dum-dum. I'll be here all night folks! Don't forget to tip your waiters...........
