Just posting this as a reminder note to get this info out to our MBA folks! thumbs_up

From a recent call on the phone with Don (2-Ton) who was somewhere in Tennessee, he and wife Vicki were on their way to the Southern Bolter's 3rd Annual Southern Bolter's Jamboree and Smokey Mountain Nationals AD truck Show in Townsend, TN that happened Friday and Saturday, 2-3 June 2023.

Per info from Don, after they finish up with the Southern Bolters events Tim from "Down Under" will be flying in to Columbia, MO early this week and will be touring a bunch of scenic Missouri locales with Don. Don mentioned they plan on trying to meet up with as many fellow Bolters as possible that maybe able to break away to meet up.

Don said they have lots of stops planned, but wanted me to announce they have set aside time for a gathering of any MBA Bolter's that may be able to attend a "Mini-Meet" at KC Mongo's Shop on Friday, 9 June 2023. Steve (KC Mongo) has graciously offered to provide his shop and space and I want to give a big "Thank You" as always for his generosity. The address for KC Mongo's Shop is:

800 S. Delaware St.
Independence, MO 64050

Steve has plenty of parking space available and anyone that can is encouraged to bring their Stovebolt to show off.

A start time hasn't yet been decided on, but will probably be around mid-morning (more to come as we get that pinned down). As of now, the plan is mostly just to do a meet and greet/gab session with Tim in the AM, hit a local BBQ place (TBD) for lunch and then return to Mongo's for more gabbing and sharing as folks can. No further details yet, but as they become available, we will get them posted here for folks to know.

Please consider this an INVITATION to any Bolter that may be able to attend offered here with the only order of business to just have a great time. Appreciate if anyone planning on attending could reply back in here so we can try to get a guestimate of how many may be there (helps to plan/decide where to try and get lunch).

More info to come as we get responses and more details! Very much looking forward to giving Tim a Big Stovebolt Welcome!!!

This sounds like it could be fun. Sounds like you've connected with a few folks already to make it worth the trip! Good job, Dan. thumbs_up

Great weekend with the Southern Bolter,s at the Jamboree and the Smoky Mountain AD Nationals!
Perfect union with us, they treated us like King’s. Read about it in the Southern Bolter’s threads. There ar lots of pictures and more to follow.

As for Tim, he is still in Alvin’s care tonight and tomorrow in S.C. Vicki and I are on our way home and should be there about noon Monday.
I’ll pick up Tim late Tuesday and then we will have a week to kick around Missouri. Friday at Mongo’s is still on and the meet time will be set by Wednesday and posted. Tomorrow evening I’ll try and post up a fluid agenda for the rest of his stay.

Don,

Just an added note that I ran into one of the Genuine Chevy/GMC Truck Club of KC members at a swap meet in Lathrop Saturday. The invite to Mongo's for this Friday's "Mini-Meet" with Tim is being spread through the Truck Club grapevine. I already have two of their folks replies to confirm they plan on attending.

Hoping to hear back form fellow MBA Bolters that may be able to come join the gathering.

Safe travels home.

Dan

Should we grill something up there for lunch? If we have 10 or more show up, going out to eat is a pain.

Don,

I can't say honestly. No idea where we stand on potential numbers planning to attend.

From my end, there is myself and 2 Genuine Chevy/GMC Truck Club members planning on coming. I have had contact with several other local Bolters, but as of now they all have other commitments.

I did reach out to Steve and trying to gather numbers he may have.

How about you, is there more than you and Tim?

I think once we get a better idea on numbers, we can figure out a lunch plan.

Yes/No/Maybe so??? headscratch

Just going to be Tim and I at Mongo’s Garage.
Let’s just wing it and see what happens.
KC Bar-by sounds good though!

Sounds like a plan Don.

Appreciate an update when you decide on a meeting start time so we can share with any interested in joining.

Thanks,

Dan

Hey Dan, I have a commitment Friday evening in Manhattan KS. If the weather is decent I will try to make your event Friday morning but will need to leave early afternoon to head to Manhattan. It sounds like a good time.

Leaving Alvin's today. He would love to be coming to Don's for the next part of my road trip. He has showed me around his stomping ground and have had a good look around. He is certainly well known around here. He bumps into someone who knows him everywhere we have been. A Good Time!

Greenville to Dallas. then fly up to Columbia to catch up with Don
