Confession time: I’m insanely jealous. Two of my favorites things, old trucks and Smoky Mountains, combined into one. Townsend is a super cool place and there’s a bunch of you I still need to meet in person.
Ok, one of you Southern Bolters needs to tutor Tim on image posting!

Due to what has to be the right alignment of the stars- - - - -I'm going to be in Knoxville this weekend! The online college my daughter has been attending is having their graduation ceremonies there Saturday morning, and I'll be there to watch her receive her Bachelor's degree in business administration. At age 51, after spending a lot of time raising two sons as a mostly single mother, it's been a long haul for her, with a lot of hard work involved. If anybody is still around Townsend Saturday afternoon, I'll be in the neighborhood! Jerry

Had breakfast at pancake house and having a cookout at Mountaineer pavilion about 6pm tonight. Beautiful weather, 84 right now with a cool mountain breeze.

Like Peggy said, CAPTIONS, guys. If you don't put your own on the photos, they get the last one that someone entered. Every pic is captioned "TUTS 59, PaPa Joe, Eli (PaPa Joe's Grandson)."
Tim: Not sure what is wrong with yours, as the image icon is gone. If you're manually inserting the [ IMG ] tags, please don't do that. HERE [flickr.com] is how to insert pictures. [on edit] Tim, I think you were doing fine, but some glitch made your picks show up the way they did. I went in and edited your first post and it had the pic in the attachment manager like it should have been. I put all of your pics in your first picture post and deleted the other weird posts, so all your pics are viewable normally.
Carry on.
Looks like a fun get-together.

Dave and the group from Smoky Mountain Nationals treated us like royalty, it was very much the place to hold our Jamboree. The event is really family oriented and welcoming, everyone was friendly and there to have fun. This event will be "Southern Bolter's" go to destination for next year's Jamboree..
I will do a complete wrap up the the Show and our Jamboree once I get home. For now please enjoy these pictures from Saturday .

Great folks, good food, trucks galore and beautiful weather. Definitely our kind of folks. Made new friends and a ton of good exposure for Stovebolt.com
.....and before anyone jumps me about captions I have tried. I've tried putting in the caption then the attachments and then doing attachments first then the captions but just doesnt work.....there are others saying same thing.....whats the common denominator?? As tweety bird says "I tried and I tried" so now I'll wait for gdad to chime in!

Gearhead, Moderator for The Swap Meet and General Truck Talk
Alvin,
After you get back to the house and get yourself settled and recovered, drop me a PM. We can swap numbers and I would be glad to help you out. Works best if I can talk your through the process while your actually doing it.
Thanks to you and all the Southern Bolters for sharing this experience.
Looking forward to talking with you as you can work it in.

The awards at the Townsend show were judged by Peoples Choice. This Truck received the "Bootleggers" award for best representation of the theme.

The " Best of Show " Truck was really no surprise, the craftsmanship in this build was exceptional. Every part of this truck was finished to the highest standard, every gap was spot on, the paint was flawless. I'm sure it was built in a professional shop.

While we didn't have the number of Stovebolt Trucks on hand we would have liked to, the Trucks that were there definitely represented our moto of "Find it, Fix it, Drive it.
Papa Joe drove his '53 3100 from NC and completed the cruise through the "Smoky Mountain Foothills Parkway ", with some VIP's waving from the back.
Tom drove his '54 3100 over the mountain to Townsend and met the rest of the Southern Bolter's family there.
We made some new friends and welcomed Joseph and Robin from Milledgeville Ga. Into the Southern Bolter's family. They had driven their '54 3100 from their home and across the Smoky Mountain Parkway to the show in Townsend.
