OMAHA ORANGE BABY!!! First color on the truck. Progress. Found out I need more light in my paint tent. When I opened the flap to admire my work, I saw some primer peeking out. I'll shoot another coat on in a few days. My recoat window closes in just a few hours and doesn't open again till 4 days have passed.
Your on the way to having it done, Omaha Orange is a bold color but suits the Alaskan Highway look. 👍👍👍

Come, Bleed or Blister something has got to give!!! '59 Apache 31, 327 V8 (0.030 over), Muncie M20 4 Speed, GM 10 Bolt Rear... long term project (30 years and counting) '58 Viking 4400, 235, 4 Speed (Thor)
After the cutting torch treatment the old u-bolts came out, the trailing arms were lowered and the lowering blocks were installed. New u-bolts and everything was in place. The ‘62 C-10 has just the right stance now. Need to clean it all up in preparation for Saturday’s show. This is the big show for our small town so there will be lots of trucks to compete for the trophies. They are giving away a professionally built HiPo LS during the awards ceremony.
Note: Attachment Manager is fighting with me this morning. Photos later

Finally got the reupholstered seat installed in the '59. Also removed the grain sides and replaced them with 12" sideboards, similar to the ones on my other trucks.

The only vehicle I remember from my childhood, the early 50s, was your style truck. First a stake bedside with a canvas cover then later a metal bed. My father worked for a company in Baltimore, Md called Purity Creamery which was also an egg company and he went around to farms in the area and picked up the eggs. Also On Thursdays, he went to Eastern Shore Md, to a Finnish community and bought eggs from them.
The '59 looks funny straight on with the skinny tires below the huge fenders. Pretty much all vehicles back then looked like that.

Thanks, Craig, for the kind words! It actually looks better from this distance that it does closer up!
Regarding the front tires--one factor in play there is that it has 19.5" wheels and tires on it. 22.5's would help that situation a little, but this is what it had when I bought it.
Got tired of looking at these pistons so I stuck 'em where the sun don't shine. They will encounter 100% chance of lighting and great balls of fire, however.

Put down x-treme sound and heat barrier on front floor, added the seal to steering column, emergency brake and starter. Then added a new floor mat. Then installed the cab windlace, what a job. Last week was putting the deadner on the back wall and roof, installing new gas tank and sender, put down a rubber matting under the seat to keep jack and other tools from rattling. Removed 2 piece windshield, cracked the passenger side. I have a new Steele Rubber WS , the old one had shrunk. The channel for the WS was clean, no rust. Reinstalled the seat frame and put in the seat cushions that I recovered. I do some on my own, but on Tuesday a machanic friend does the work and I am the helper. We call it Truck Tuesday, start at 10:00 and stop at 5:00. I have helped him on all of the above. I have painted some interior parts the were taken off, more to do as they are removed. Slowly going at it. Truck has sat since 1992 in a barn, it was my daily driver. Never understand myself for not using it some. Time gets away sometimes. I retired last year and do family ranch stuff now. Some days just take it easy and other days work on my 50 3100. Trying to find parts that I have bought over the years is frustrating.
