They are called a "cable stop" and come in a variety of cable sizes.

A quick search on the web shows Dorman offers 3 different size, 3/32", 1/16" and 1/8" and all are available from one of your local FLAPS.

That's right. Cable stops. I don't know why I thought barrel nut. I have a package of them right here. 1/16" is what I used.

Got one yesterday and installed it.. works fine.. and got the engine started and running last night... minor problems to fix but looking better.
