I remember that there were 2 small sheet metal filler panels that go under the hood to close off a couple of open areas. I have reproduction panels, but can't remember where they go. Anybody have pics they could post?

Here's a couple of pics. Hard to tell, but I think the L-shaped one goes on the driver's side.

I ran across the original L-shaped filler piece today. It still had a screw in it that indicated it was installed on the driver's side. I believe the lower L part was to cover the parking brake bracket that mounts there.

Ron, not criticizing, but the originals were painted black. You can see the remnants of the black paint on what's left of my original filler. I've painted mine body color too. wink

Well darned, Kevin! I missed that one. Oh well, they'll stay green. That anti-sqeak was a bit of a challenge to install with staples.

Well done on the partial cuts on the sharp corners. I saw a very original truck with enough of the seals left on them to indicate that what you did is correct.
It always bugs me to see one of these trucks which someone paid someone else a fortune to build their truck, but leave those panels off.

What supplier can that "anti-squeak" be found as you show? Just looking for the cheap.

I got the fender mounting isolation set from Jim Carter. They say it includes the stuff for the filler plates as well as the inner fenders. Their PN FP119.
Although I just got a catalog from Restoration Specialties www.restorationspecialties.com [restorationspecialties.com] and it has hundreds of bits like that. Haven't found that in their catalog, but you could give them a call. 814-467-9842 They're in PA.
