I agree with Otto, once you get the finish painted it will be very difficult to see. The color contrast right now highlights the gap. If you want to test my theory , spray that whole section door, rocker, etc... the same color primer then stand back and take a look. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Well I could not leave it alone........................ Took 3/16 off the rear of the door and welded it shut. Added 3/8 to the front of the door. Still needs a little dressing, but it went easier than I expected. Got the shipping damage straightened out too. Kinda comical, the thickest filler I have on the truck is on brand new metal. O-well, what can you do?
