I know this is nothing new to anyone here. I've scoured enough old threads to feel some pain for all. However, I'm looking for some quick pointers. 1961 C60 2T
Need now: Headlight switch (found switches online and at NAPA, who supplies the knobs though?). For the life of me I cannot find them. E-brake boot at floor. I'd say wheels & tires but I know you'd ban me. Then I'm moving on to glass replacement (doors/vents only), oil leaks, sound deadening, improved lighting, etc. She fires right up every time though, even after sitting neglected for too long.

welcome to the site! You might post in the welcome forum and introduce yourself and your truck.
A lot of the cab parts (dash parts especially) are the same as for the smaller trucks. Is this the knob and shaft you are looking for? https://www.ebay.com/itm/155139488772
as far as fixing leaks, clean it all real well, watch for where the leak starts (top and front, and it almost always flows down and back). Trans is easy to drop and seal, valve covers and intake are prone to leak, and then there are always the front and rear main seals on the engine.... just depends on how bad it leaks and if there is other maintenance needed that requires dropping trans or pulling engine!
Park brake boot, good luck!

Any halfway competent saddle shop can fabricate a leather boot for the E-brake handle. It won't be original, but it will keep hot (and cold) air out of the cab. Jerry

I made a shifter boot from leather for a Chevy Citation I had back in the 80's. The original rubber one cracked after just a year or so. I guess I'm halfway competent.
Kevin Newest Project - 51 Chevy 3100 work truck. Photos [flickr.com] #2 - '29 Ford pickup restored from the ground up. First car '29 Ford Special Coupe Busting rust since the mid-60's If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
Thanks Mike, Jerry, & Kevin. Mike - good to know! I can stop only searching "C60", etc. Don't get on me too bad, but this is my first GM of any older age (I daily a diesel Ford). My only classics have been a '59 Edsel Ranger & '70 Torino Cobra. Unless you count my first cars (I don't), a '66 Rambler Country Classic 4 door 232 inline 6 and a '76 Nova 2 door 250 inline 6! (young and on a budget) Not sure if you recognize this rig from the shots I posted so far, but I bought this from up near you - and drove it to Portland without knowing anything about her! (my wife was behind me in the dually w/ my emergency tools)
Jerry, I'll look into it - I knew of a pretty good place in Portland near my dad's old shop. Haven't been down there in years, I'll see if they're still around. By the way, my other house is about 3 hours from Dellrose (Lewisburg, MS).
And Kevin, if you can make a leather boot for a Citation before the advent of YouTube how-to videos, you're more than halfway competent!
Either way, I guess I'll add the boot to my growing list of secondary needs (right next to new wheels).
Looking forward to contributing as I get more serious with this rig. Extremely rust free so most projects will be about preservation and mechanical reliability & safety (and some creature comforts while maintaining as much originality as possible. I'll post an intro and pictures to the Welcome page this weekend.
I searched the park brake boot with dimensions, mine has a square ring for the 4 speed and the oblong ring for the brake, I found some that were close enough to work. Summit Racing has several options.
1957 Chevrolet 5700 LCF 283 SM420 2 speed rear, 1955 IH 300U T/A, 1978 Corvette 350 auto, 1978 Yamaha DT175, 1999 Harley Davidson Softail Fat Boy
The brake lever boot is inverted so there is less stress/travel needed, so a modified Hurst shifter boot might work. I had a shop rag rolled up and wrapped around the lever and pushed into what was left of the boot for 20 years...it kept the wind and dirt out. I even looked into having the boots made years ago, but there are too many different size/types with limited demand to make it worth doing.
Also thought you'd like to know your C60 is a 2-ton truck, not a 1-1/2 ton.

So weird, I was literally sitting here on Summit about to pull the trigger and it crossed my mind to check this thread first. Thanks for checking the measurement approximations too.

Get outta here! Guess I'd better update some things. Thanks, Mike.
BTW, I'm trying to add a signature...even something short like "1961 C60 Viking 2T" is saying: You are using 18 of the allowed characters. You must shorten your signature length. Then I tried just 1961, same error but "using 4 of the allowed"...
