After installing a new 21gal fuel tank from CJ Pony & rigging some temporary switches & wiring, was able to start truck & pull it out of shop under its own power. Felt good, I have to admit. Also , after some rust & dent repair, got the hood painted while truck was outside.

That *is* a pretty truck, RB! Like the color combo! Looks like my truck after I washed the cab today and found out it actually is red under all the years of accumulated storage dust ...
I spent a rainy Saturday afternoon in the shop with the new project and managed to wrap up inventorying the parts collection ... during which I found the carburetor! Yay. Only it's the "rare" Carter RAJX-O (naturally ...)
And from the hardware, I determined that the truck had a body on it built by Schurmeir-Whitney in Minnesota. Cool!
Basically, I have a whole bunch of stuff that I can't identify ... yet... But there's less mystery stuff here today then there was yesterday

That is an ambitious project, to say the least. Are you planing on using the original engine & drivetrain ?
Thanks for the kind words . I hope to have it road worthy by the end of the year.
The wife was standing near by when I started the engine to back it in the shop again. (It's a Gen V 454 with a Gen VI HO roller cam) It startled her & she said Oh! that sounds powerful! LOL

Phil -- It's a 1927 Chevrolet Capitol LM (1-ton). Peggy bought it from the other Phil (TrknGMC) ...
Robert (MPandC) went out to the shop today with me and we have the beginnings of a game plan for the remaining sheet metal work (fenders and running boards).
RB -- my plan is to keep it as original.

John, with Robert on board, (I wish I was closer to him, so clearly jealous) you should have no issues with sheet metal work on the Capitol.
