So a few years back I mentioned to my boys that I would love to get a 1950 Chevy truck for my 50th birthday. I didn't think anything of it after that. Fast forward to a few weeks ago, and it was my 50th birthday and I am sitting on the couch, my wife comes in with a blindfold and says "Don't ask, just come on." We get in the side-by-side and roll down to my 30x40 shop that I tinker in. My kids are all there and they pull off the blindfold to reveal a 1949 Chevy 3600, all original but not running. Stunned is not a word I use lightly, but it works here. I am now the incredibly proud owner of this beauty, so I am starting my research here on Stovebolt.com. I will be asking tons of questions and probably posting lots of pictures. I was very happy to find this group.
Bigfoot561, Welcome to the BOLT. I sounds like you are are starting a great project, make sure you keep us up to date on your progress (WE LOVE PICTURES). As your in NC you are diffidently a "Southern Bolter", there are some great folks in this group. We are having our 3rd annual "Jamb0ree" in justa couple of weeks, it will be in conjunction with the Smoky Mountain Nationals in Townsend Tn. You and your family are more than welcome to come join in on our fun, you don't need to have your truck there to attend. We are glad you found us.

Adam, you came to the right site to get info and encouragement on restoring your new truck! It’s a long journey, but we will help you thru it. Also like Tuts said, try to attend the Southern Jamboree in Townsend Tennessee. Wife and I will be there for the gathering along with her fresh baked cookies.
Don
