I’m very close to painting the cab and grill on my 1954 truck. I have seen conversations about the factory part lines but I can’t seem to find those conversations. My interior color is different from the exterior. And I’d like to also paint the grill panels, entire grill will be painted, like they were at the factory. The colors won’t be exact factory colors but I would like to match how they painted them.

On the doors I know the part line is under the door seal so you actually don’t see the line.

As far as the interior color to exterior I think it’s at the weld line on the sides and top? And then the bottom the interior color wraps down under the cab.

The grill the horizontal back “shelf” is the different color from the body. Is the vertical bar different colors as well or the same as the body?

Any documentation or pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Here's some photo's that might help. SInce you are not going with factory colors you can choose whatever color you wish for the grille and grille inner bars.

Adam, recommend you save the link to Tim's website. Tim is being very modest, its a treasure trove for anyone restoring a 1954 Chevy Truck.

That’s exactly what I was looking for guys! The pictures are great. Confirmed where I was thinking in the part lines. And yes, Tim’s site is great. I’ve been on it several times over the last couple of years I’ve been working on the truck. But I am making it a favorite this time.normally I’m guided to it from a post on this forum. Interior cab color is very close to the original. At least from what I could tell. Found a rattle can paint that was pretty close and we liked it with the green we chose for the exterior so I colored matched that for the interior. The inner bars on the grille will be that color as well. I’m not going for a restoration back to the way it left the line but more like paying homage to the way the truck was originally. Thanks again guys!
