Hello from New Zealand. I have a 1938 Half ton Chev that's been in my family for nearly 50 years. I have been restoring it for a lot of years now and its almost done. It has the original 216 in it that's been rebuilt and the 4 speed crash box. Being from NZ it's right hand drive made in Canada and assembled here in NZ when new. This site has been a huge help with its restoration.
That's a cool looking truck. Was the two tone paint original to the truck? Was it a commercial vehicle in the old days?

Also, you have a nice cobbled driveway to park on. What are you doing on the lawn! hahaha!

Thank you for the welcome. The red is close to the original color I found under the other layers of paint when I sanded it back. I'm not sure if it would have had the black fenders but I liked the look. It was held in reserve for the NZ army when new for WW2 which is why we think it has the 4 speed gearbox. It was then released to civilian use in 1943. I believe it was owned by a freighting company for awhile then several local farmers ending with us. I'm from Nelson which is at the top of the south island.

That is a beautiful truck!
Welcome to the Stovebolt community.
The history of your truck, along with the restoration beginnings "Here's what I started with." picture, leave a big opening for more tales about your restoration.
Looking forward to more conversations and pictures as you can share them.
