Just had a week in Whangarei, my birthplace. You are onto a good crew here. Where in NZ are you? I live in Newcastle, Australia now. Good looking truck you have. Mine is lhd from California.

Thank you for the welcome.
The red is close to the original color I found under the other layers of paint when I sanded it back. I'm not sure if it would have had the black fenders but I liked the look. It was held in reserve for the NZ army when new for WW2 which is why we think it has the 4 speed gearbox. It was then released to civilian use in 1943. I believe it was owned by a freighting company for awhile then several local farmers ending with us.
I'm from Nelson which is at the top of the south island.

Here's what I started with. Wasn't too bad a condition, no real rust issues. It must have been stored indoors most of its life.

That is a beautiful truck! thumbs_up

Welcome to the Stovebolt community.

The history of your truck, along with the restoration beginnings "Here's what I started with." picture, leave a big opening for more tales about your restoration. grin

Looking forward to more conversations and pictures as you can share them.
