Hi everyone,

I brand new to this forum and from what I’ve seen it looks awesome. I have a 1947 Chevrolet loadmaster 1.5 ton flatbed. It was purchased from a farmer that was going to scrap it and it’s been sitting around waiting for me to get it back on the road.

Welcome! This is a great place for info on getting it going again.

I would invite you to post some pictures of the truck here, and put questions in the appropriate forums (looks like yoi found thr parts area already).

What is the overall condition beyond "not on the road"?

Driveable but the rear axle needs work.

The overall condition is good. The tires are dry rotted and there is a bunch of needed paperwork but it runs, drives and stops.

Why would the farmer have considered scrapping it if it runs, drives, and stops?

It didn’t run, drive and stop when he was getting rid of it. I’ve had the truck since 2015. I redid the brake system, got it running and driving. Then it sat again from 2016 until now.
