The wrench taped to the paint stick? Yes sir! That tape held it and was strong enough for me to use a socket wrench on the anchor bolt to do the final tightening. Just twist that paint stick back and forth and pull down a bit and that tape will pull off of the fender washer just fine.
I enjoy helping others with stuff like this. I hope it has encouraged people to install seat belts and maybe saved people from some injuries. I had a crash and my 1965 seatbelts (the ones in the DIY) saved me from injury.

I only installed them in mine for my kids. I have a guardian angel to protect me. No idea if he will protect my kids or not, so I am planning ahead.

Ferris, If your guardian angel fails to protect you, it won't help the kids if you're gone. I'd recommend you wear your seat belt (and your life jacket if out on the water).
