Hi first time to this forum. I am retired from HVAC industry of 40 years, I enjoy working on cars and trucks and woodworking, I also like fishing. I just bought a 1955 1st series GMC 3/4 ton truck (152-24-P-Z) in Nov of 22. It has not ran is 20 years so there is a lot to do to get it to the point that I can get it running. I am looking forward to reading about your experiences with restoring an old truck and hopefully learning along the way.

Cowboy,

In case you are using a cell phone to access the site, (and you don't get the column on the left), there is a *sticky* post right here in the Welcome Center that gives you more info on posting images in the forums.

Plus, it's not a *download* file. I found it's easier to follow.

Besides the forums (got a good search program ... also up top in the Menu bar), there are some Tech Tips here that may help you. That link there drops you into the "getting started" portion of the main Tech Tips page.

Gdads51 says you may want to post a "hello" in the The Great Lake Bolters forum as that group includes the "Minnesota" in it's territory.

Welcome!

Man ... we've had more and more 55.1 trucks showing up of late! shake

Welcome Cowboy55! wave

Glad you decided to join us here and looking forward to hearing about and seeing your truck as you have time to post more. thumbs_up

If you need more help in posting pics, let us know and we will help you get that ball rolling along.

BTW - don't be afraid to show us what it looks like to start. Absolutely no judgement as for the vast majority of us, we started off pretty much right where you are at. grin

As you decide on what tech questions you need help with, make sure you post them in the specific "Shop" forums that cover those topics. If you can' find a best fit, feel free to post in the General Truck Talk forum. We can answer there or move it to where in needs to go for further discussion.

Also helps to keep your questions down to a single topic so folks can keep answers on-topic to what you need help with. wink

Once again, Welcome to the 'Bolt! shake

Hello Cowboy55, lets see some pics of your '55.

I have friends just North of Lake Mille Lacs and cousins in Minneapolis. What part of the state are you located?

I think i have to pics of my truck when I brought it home on a trailer. It has been sitting for 20 years and does not run yet. Been working on changing it over to 12 volts first.

[edit by moderator] I've converted your PDF's to photo files. It's best to attach photos directly, that way we can see thumbnails directly in the post. Instructions on how to do that are here in a sticky thread above the Welcome Centre, and also on the left margin if you're on a PC. You've figured out how to attach files, just need to use the right file type -- jpg or png.

Nice truck BTW. grin
