I purchased a complete bed setup from Mar-K. the wooden blocks and related cross sill reinforcement brackets includes 1 set with offset holes. It oculd be that the offset blocks are required for 3100 trucks but on my 3600 I can not see any reason for there to be offset blocks/brackets.

It is not a big deal but just raises a question if there is something I am not seeing correctly.

My wood block kit from LMC has two offset blocks too. Did you figure out why they are offset?

No, never did figure out where the offset blocks go specifically. I thought maybe it was for the 3100 frame vs. the 3600 frame but do not have any real insight into the fit on the 3100.

Mar-K has very detailed instructions on their website on where the various parts go.

I did not see any answer to the bed offset blocks at Mar-K site. Doesn't matter to me, just curious as to why they make them that way. I have my bed almost together. I drilled the mounting bolt holes except the rear ones.

I think Mar-K's blocks just match the originals. There was mention of the offset blocks in the bed assembly instructions that they send with a wood kit (I don't think available freely on their site.) My instructions are buried away with my wood kit, which is waiting to be installed after I get the bed painted, or I'd share the part about the offset blocks.

I won’t be setting the bed on my frame till the cab is painted. It will be awhile, but hopefully this month.

I reviewed the Mar-K instructions again and they state "The offset wood blocks go on the third cross sill from the front bed panel with the offset brackets. The holes are offset to the outside."

I know that I have questioned their numbering of the cross sills because their numbering does not seem to match with my frame so I am not confident that the third cross sill is correct for my truck but I will know more when I get back to confirming the bed assembly/installation down the road.

I agree, the 3rd cross sill is not bolted to the frame on my 47 3600. No holes. It is on the hump but does not touch the frame. The 1st, 2nd, are bolted with the wood blocks . The 4th cross sill is bolted behind the hump with the wood blocks and the 5th rear cross sill at the tail end no wood directly to frame. All cross sills bolted to wood bed though the metal strips. Mine has 9 boards so 8 strips and the two side angles.

3100's have a total of 4 cross sills. Front bolted to the front panel and to the frame. 2nd ahead of the frame hump and only bolted to the bed wood. 3rd behind the hump and bolted to the bed wood and the frame, and 4th welded and bolted to the bed sides and to the frame. With a 3600, there's another cross sill, like lumbersawyer says. Only the ones that are bolted to the frame get wood blocks with the bolts running through them, otherwise they'd fall out.
