2009 - The Fifth Annual Stovebolt Reunion in Kansas City (MO)

A place-holder for now, as I pull out some more details. Seems like for a little bit, the info is in pockets here and there.

We do have some great photos in the Bolt Bucket for the weekend of the 2009 Reunion [s160.photobucket.com].

Here's the photos [s160.photobucket.com] Cletis took.

Maybe some of you can pick an image or two or three from these and explain what's happening or who's who. I see a bunch of friendly faces. I'll have to get mine from the hard-drive in order to attach them here.

Looks like another big group. Another year for the purple shirts! grin Was really easy to spot us in the crowd. thumbs_up

Anyone who wants to post comments, remembrances, or photos from 2009, please do. Or earlier years ... see the four years already set up: 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and this one.

Thanks,
Peg

Peggy,

I wasn't an attendee back then cry , but perusing the pictures, I recognize many of the "restored trucks and equipment" from the Alderson's collection.

I got to see those in person during the 2022 September gathering. They still look as good these days, but definitely a little more crowded together as they added stuff since 2009. grin

Thanks for sharing. thumbs_up

I was able to pull up a few more images for this year. Maybe help some with a memory jogging!

First one is the group image. It was even a bigger group than last year ... and such a sea of purple shirts.

Next two are Don "2-Ton" King in his truck, and his truck (one of them at least). Don says it's his first visit to the show. Maybe he'll elaborate a bit.

Then there's Alvin, Mike "Ol Trucks" Taylor, Cletis, and Leo ... I'm thinking that might be out back at Jim Carter's place. I *kinda* remeber that. There was just so much (as you can see if the Bolt Bucket pictures.

A few other's at Jim Carters. The one I just titled "wonderment" since it truly was a bewildering place. So many truck parts. Even HUGE stuff. The other is me and Alvin.

I've got some more to post in a bit.

Keep coming up with tid-bits.

Found this in WE b OLD's Gallery page:

"First big trip was to Kansas City for the Stovebolt Reunion in 2009. That cruise control really come in handy! I was able to bring Jordon "JDL" Long with me. (That was a great treat for all of us at the show! JDL is one of our younger Stovebolters. ~ Editor)

I returned in 2010 to Kansas City. In 2011, I made my first trip to the Stovebolt Homecoming in Southern Maryland (the picture above is from that GABFest). It was a two day trip and there were no problems with the truck.

I get about 23 miles per gallon so that was good news - with exception of going through the mountains."

More about "jdl" in the 2011 Reunion Recap.
