Stovebolters -- Be aware that several members of our Stovebolt Community have experienced (but thankfully not fallen victim to) an attempted scam on our site.

The scammer, "Wonderlander774," had been responding to posts in the Swap Meet and offering parts (sale) using a long-time registered user and known Stovebolter's identity (without his knowledge or permission, of course). The contact info (email address) Wonderlander774 used was not the Stovebolter's real info. Wonderlander774 was attempting to conduct his transactions via PM, and demanded the victim use a cash app ("Zella"), rather than PayPal.

Because this all seemed sketchy, the targeted victim contacted us (Admins). We have subsequently deleted Wonderlander's account (as well as further access via means our IT Security Department has at its disposal...).

So Please be advised, unfortunately, scam activity has been attempted on Stovebolt. We stopped it this time -- thanks to the alertness and quick action of one of our fellow Stovebolters. But they (or others) will try again, probably with different tactics. Should you suspect similar attempts, or wrong doing of any kind, FLAG the post (see picture attached -- the flag button will be at the top of screen of the particular post) giving as much detail as you can. This will alert the Stovebolt.com administrative team (The Moderators, the Administrators and, most importantly, the Security Team).
