2008 - The Fourth Annual Stovebolt Reunion in Kansas City (MO)
Here's the webpage for this year. We had a bigger group this year. And we had purple shirts! Was really easy to spot us in the crowd. Here's a link to the big image with mouse-over so the folks are named.
This was the year of Ed "Da Oz Tinman" Hoover and there is a lot of "commentary" on that page, too.
Anyone who wants to post comments, remembrances, or photos from 2008, please do. Or earlier years ... see the three years already set up: 2005, 20062007 and this one, 2008.
Thanks, Peg

That was my first year but the 54 started overheating 50 miles from home. I drove my PT cruiser. The 54 missed one more and I drove my 2008 Buick Encore.
I have all the stuff that I could find for the 4th Annual Reunion in Kansas City in 2008. Fixed all the links in the pages.
Reading the story again (a few times even) ... gosh what a great time. Ed "Da Oz Tinman" Hoover was a major contributor to Stovebolt for the event. He really bumped up the Stovebolt image a lot! The story tells it all.
It’s those stories that got me to attend my first Reunion in 2009! Didn’t take the wife cause I didn’t know what to expect. Soon as I got home, I told Vicki that we were both going the next year. We both have been hooked ever since.

Of all the things I've lost in my life, I miss my mind the most!
1967 GMC 9500 Fire Ladder Truck "The Flag Pole" In the Stovebolt Gallery [stovebolt.com] '46 2-Ton grain truck '50 2-ton flatbed '54 Pontiac Straight Eight 1954 Plymouth Belvidere '70 American LaFrance pumper fire truck. 1976 Triumph TR-6
That's too bad. That's happened to a lot of people. And remember the Webshots ... all those folks who lost their pictures?
I realized the other day why the Reunion web pages stopped after this year. Our first grandchild was born December 2007! For six years, we were "day care" for three (coming two years at a time). And then after school for a few more hears. Loving every minute of it.
So ... things definitely changed for a bit.
Still poking thru what I do have and will get some place-holders in here. Some people posting in other forums about later years so it'll be good to get them to post some in here.
Sorry about the pictures ... I just had to share.

Well, my big take away from this one is that this was the year Rusty Rod nearly turned me into a quadraplegic ... He came sneaking up behind me at the American Inn Poolside Soiree and put me in a headlock not realizing I had only recently been released from having to wear a neck brace from a neck injury. Luckly, between my sqwaking, and Miss Peggy's intervention, he released me before any thing bad happened.
I then busted out all his teeth with a beer bottle and we've been besties ever since.
Well ... maybe not, but that's my version and I'm sticking with it.
It was also the year we all got to meet Sabrina and Alberto. We all miss that girl. She was always a welcomed presence on the site.
I missed having Paul there that year -- *I* had to answer technical questions about the site ...
